The Center’s mission is to celebrate, strengthen, and support community among the GLBT residents and organizations of Black Pride and Youth Pride, among others in Metropolitan Washington, DC. While The Center ramps up to fulfill its vision of serving as a ‘drop-in’ center and as a clearinghouse for GLBT residents and visitors, it offers an outdoor movies series during the summer months, Screen on Stead Park; organized the DC Crystal Meth Working Group to address the use and abuse of crystal methamphetamine; established an elder outreach group that coordinates programs, services, and information for DC’s senior citizens; hosts quarterly art exhibits; the annual Town Hall Meeting during Capital Pride; and support a number of other events.
